Dan Lee (from Scrabbel, Aisler’s Set) and Timothy James Wright (solo + Garrett Pierce group) will be joining the band on stage to round out some of the record’s nuances. Add in Grand Lake + il Gato to make this one fantastic night of live tunes! 21+ $8 at 8:30pm. This is the one to make if you haven’t been out in a while!

“The real win, comes when Mann’s rock and roll chops are interspersed with Spector-ish beats, lilting country strings, or classic rock organs. Combined, these pieces serve to give the record the sonic weight to be set apart from its peers.”
(Hippies Are Dead)

“Mixing a straightforward pop-rock approach with Mann’s signature and super dynamic wordplay, the Upper Hand crew arrives at a sound that’s part sweet bluesiness, part shoegaze and distortion, and part Ted Leo-style speak-sing.”
(Santa Barbara Independent)

“San Francisco’s Jake Mann used to call Davis home when he played with the Zim-Zims. Now the pop singer-songwriter fronts the Upper Hand, a three-piece band that marries sparkling pop-rock with an ’80s mope-rock vibe (think the Smiths, Echo & the Bunnymen).”
(Sacramento News + Review)

“The track is a seriously addictive slice of immediate power pop-rock, the sort of song that’s over before you know it. If you’re like me, you’ll be setting this one on repeat.”
(The Bay Bridged premier of “Days Are Long” single / video / remix)
