Quintessential Silver Darling review + radio spot + video
Published, February 23, 2009 by Crossbill Records
Thanks to all of you who came out to the Silver D show on Friday night at Old Ironsides. As a music fan we were treated to some great sets by Kris Anaya, Aaron Ross and the always stellar San Jose crew The The Mumlers! The next Silver Darling show is March 27th @ Luigi’s with Or, The Whale
Plus we want to thank the Sacramento News and Review’s Josh Fernandez for these excellent words:
“You’ve heard it before and surely you’ll hear it again, like right now: Silver Darling’s Your Ghost Fits My Skin offers a fine array of songwriting and production. The band goes beyond throwing down tracks for the sake of churning out a CD and adopts the painstaking task of constructing sounds to draw out a full range of emotions. And Silver Darling’s live show, powerful and dramatic, further exemplifies the passion that goes into their songwriting. Even atheists can’t help but to feel a little bit full of the Holy Ghost at an SD show. ” -2/19/09 Sacramento News and Review
Also Kevin Lee of Silver Darling was interviewed and played a song live on “Insight with Jeffrey Callison” on Capital Public Radio heard throughout Sacramento on 2/20. Here is the link to the ARCHIVE. Take a listen.
There is also a video available of Silver Darling playing a song at the Historic I St Synagogue in D.C. as part of the sold out 43 Songs For 43 Presidencies show in January. Enjoy!
