Thanks to our pals at The Bay Bridged for premiering the latest video from Appetite and hosting the Phone del Sol festival. “Little While” was one of the late additions to the record and I’m so glad it made the cut. That sing-a-long chorus “Either Love Me For the Rest of Time or a Little While” runs laps in my head after my daily listen.

Teddy Briggs had to say this about his homemade video creation.
“I mostly filmed moments that were really fun or things I just thought were funny. I always wanted an excuse to share this footage and of course a music video for one of my songs would work. I thought “Little While” was most appropriate…not too much of a deeper artistic meaning involved here. But more of a vehicle to try and share myself and how much I love my friends. I like to brag about having the best friends in the world, but everybody with good friends thinks their friends are the best. I wouldn’t be anywhere without good friends, memories and family. Oh yeah, and a sense of humor about all this life and shit.”
While in San Francisco last month, Matt Bauer took time out to gather talented friends Nigel Pavao, Greg Gheorghiu, Nathan Wanta, Eva Wanta, Alisa Rose along with his tour mates Dana Falconberry and Alex Foote to record this beautiful “Chasing the Moon” Session. Thanks to Scott McDowell and the whole crew at “Chasing the Moon” to create this tremendous collaboration of friends that have a deep bond and history of playing music together be it on stages or around kitchen tables. This is truly a special listening and visual experience.

Sea of Bees is following up the highly acclaimed “Songs For the Ravens” with the digital single “Gnomes” in August from Crossbill. We will be talking more about the single as it gets closer to the release date, but here’s a rundown of the tracks on ‘Gnomes’. The title track is quietly disarming, propelled by a characteristic child-like vocal, wrapping intimate musings against a backdrop of rhythmic guitar riffs. It is alluring in its mysterious and fragmented beauty and a clear album highlight. ‘Gnomes’ is accompanied by a remix by a Tunng remix – the folk experimentalists contort the original, chopping the vocals in amongst Eastern strings, both urgent and exhilarating. ‘Don’t Fear The Reaper’ is a cover of Blue Oyster Cult and sees Sea Of Bees collaborate with Neal Casal who once again showcases his fine craftsmanship, having been a key member of Ryan Adam’s The Cardinals. To round off the EP ‘With Or Without You’ is a delicate, wistful cover of the U2 classic.
